Dear Supporters and Friends,
I trust this message finds you well, filled with the promise of boundless opportunities in the year ahead.
I am excited to share updates on a project that has been close to my heart—The Bishop Crowther Documentary Film Project. Launched in September 2021, this endeavor aims to commemorate the 130th anniversary of the passing of the remarkable missionary, linguist, and scholar, Bishop Samuel Ajayi Crowther, who left an indelible mark on history.
Over the past few months, the Crowther Project team has been hard at work, delving into extensive archival research and embarking on journeys to significant historical landmarks in Badagry, Ota, Abeokuta, and Ibadan. We were recently granted exclusive access to the J.F Ade Ajayi library/archives in Ibadan, a privilege that has enriched our understanding of Bishop Crowther’s legacy.
Our efforts have also included recording insightful interviews that will contribute to the comprehensive storytelling of Bishop Crowther’s life and impact. The progress we’ve made so far has been made possible through the generous donations received during our crowdfunding campaign.
While we are grateful for the support we’ve received, there is still much to be done before we can present the finished documentary to the world. Your continued support is invaluable in making this vision a reality.
